Listening to Buddhist chanting online

BuddhaSit lets you listen privately to a Korean Buddhist recording in Settings. Optional shared playback uses the recording at 05:00 and 18:00 Korea time. These are recordings, not a live broadcast from a temple.

Start personal listening

Enter BuddhaSit, open Settings, and use the chanting control to listen for yourself. Enable sound and adjust the volume to a comfortable level. Starting personal listening does not broadcast your chosen playback to other visitors.

You can listen while spending time in the temple; you do not need to start the bowing movement or turn the prayer beads. Sitting in the shared room and choosing what you hear are separate parts of the experience.

Understand the shared schedule

With shared chanting and sound enabled, scheduled playback occurs at 05:00 and 18:00 in Asia/Seoul, UTC+09:00. Compare this with your local time before waiting for a session; these times are not automatically your own morning and evening.

The shared feature plays recorded audio. It is not a live service, a call with a teacher, or a broadcast of visitors' microphones. Joining a room does not turn your personal listening into sound for everyone.

If you cannot hear the recording

First click or tap a control in the page: browsers may wait for a user gesture before allowing audio. Then check that BuddhaSit's sound is enabled and its volume is above zero. The listening control requests audio playback; if it remains silent, check the sound state shown on the page and your device volume.

Check device volume, silent mode, the browser tab's mute setting, and your selected headphones or speakers. If the media is still loading, allow it time and check the connection. These checks help distinguish a loading problem from a volume setting.

Know what you are hearing

The audio is a Korean Buddhist chanting recording. Recording and artwork credits are available in Settings, where you can check the source notices. It is offered as a temple chant preview, so do not assume it is a complete named sutra or an entire ceremony.

Choose your listening volume and stop when you wish. The browser temple provides the setting and controls; it does not provide personal instruction or make a promise about the outcome of listening.
